After releasing his debut solo album "Ghosts In Captivity" in May 2011, God Astray mastermind Joe Lupia heavily promoted the album all over New York state for a year or so before finally heading back to his constantly updated studio to begin crafting a follow-up record.
However, shortly after work began on the record, he was approached by an extremely talented good friend and a new project was born.....MAN WOMAN MACHINE. The following two and half years were a whirlwind of writing albums (2013's "From Darkness", 2014's remix album "Darkness Rewired", and a second full length "Ultra-Xenosonic", released in 2017), as well as tracks for compilations ("Bearing The Palm" off 2014's Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer Volume III - Remission/Metropolis Records).... and a plethora of remixes for artists such as Attrition, Angelspit, Interface, Transdusk, Standard Issue Citizen, Girlflesh, Antidote For Annie, Empyrean Asunder, Spider Lilies, Machines On Blast, and more.
In the midst of all this, Man Woman Machine lost their singer and dealt with finding a worthy replacement, and got signed to Beyond Therapy Records (a Florida-based industrial/electronic label founded by Ludovico Technique's Ben Vanlier).
Needless to say, the new God Astray record....was lost in the shuffle. Some songs found new homes ("Dance & Ruse" off the From Darkness record), while many others were simply scrapped. Being burned out from too many years of playing in the metal scene, Joe stopped incorporating guitars and bass in his recordings and focused on the all-electronic sounds of MWM instead. With a constantly evolving sound and an ever-changing arsenal of gear in his studio, it felt wrong to try to mix the God Astray of 2012 with the God Astray of 2015.
Enter the ELECTRO-ORGASMIC EP!
Recorded in 2012, this collection of songs was recently mixed and mastered in 2015. And in the spirit of emptying out the vaults, included is a forgotten remix from the "Ghosts In Captivity" era.....the "Sex Poison (Dirty Slut Club Mix)" by Corroded Existence.
Much of this EP is an honest account of a doomed relationship. Foolishly pursuing someone solely due to strong chemistry, even when you know that things will never be. Songs like "Deprogrammed" and "A Million Reasons...." chronicle the frustrations of dealing with a lover that vanishes for years at a time, returns just to reopen the slowly healing wound, then vanishes again once you are bleeding out. "Electro-Orgasmic" is a synth-heavy tribute to the amazing nights of raised pulses and passionate embraces that are randomly peppered throughout these troubled times. And "Ultra-Negativity" is a tongue-in-cheek poke at overly dramatic pessimists....especially the ones that choose to vent daily on the various social media platforms.
Thank you for your patience. I sincerely hope that you enjoy this EP, now that it has finally surfaced.
